This command creates an editable smart object from any image file on your computer.
- Open the "Layers" dialog.
- In the Commands list, double-click the "Place as Smart Object" command.
- In the dialog box that opens, choose the smart object source file. It may be a layered PSD, JPEG, RAW, or even PDF file.
The imported smart object appears in the Layers palette under the source file's name. The screenshot shows a document after placing "Text Source.psd" file, containing a single text layer.
- If necessary, adjust the smart object's size and position.
NB To edit the smart object's contents, you use the Edit Smart Object
command.
